Arrests, Aged 10-17 Years

Arrests, Aged 10-17 Years is the number of arrests that occurred among youths who were aged 10-17. This is a total of all arrests. If the same youth was arrested more than once, each individual arrest will be counted in this report.

Research has shown that risks associated with juvenile arrests are cognitive deficits, low school involvement, living in poverty, or being runaway or homeless. Monitoring arrest rates can help increase public safety and reduce juvenile delinquency through effective prevention, intervention and treatment services that strengthen families and improve lives of troubled youth.

In 2023, the rate per 1,000 of Arrests, Aged 10-17 Years in Alachua County was 34.1 compared to Florida at 21.5. The line graph shows change over time when there are at least three years of data.
