The birth of more than one live baby from a single pregnancy is a multiple birth. This indicator is the total number of live births resulting from these pregnancies. It may be expressed as a percentage of births.Pregnancies where the mother is carrying more than one baby have increased chances of complications that impact both mothers and babies.
